Veelgestelde vragen

  • How does the fit run?

Fit can vary by brand and model. Check the size chart or send your measurements for advice.

  • Which measurements should I send?
Chest, waist, hips + your height. For breeches/leggings, inside leg length helps.
  • How do I care for riding apparel?
Follow the care label, wash inside out, avoid high temperatures.
  • Can I tumble dry it?
Air drying is often safest. Check the care label.
  • Suitable for stable work and riding?
Many items are made for both. See product details.
  • Which rug should I use when?

Grammage = the weight of the fill (insulation) in grams.

    • 0g = no fill (mainly rain/wind protection)

    • 50–100g = light

    • 150–250g = medium

    • 300–400g = warm
Note: outer fabric, fit, wind and moisture also matter a lot.

    2) Which grammage for which temperature? (practical guide)
    Unclipped (winter coat), turnout:

    • >10°C: often none / 0g if wet or windy

    • 5–10°C: 0–100g (especially wet/windy)

    • 0–5°C: 100–200g

    • <0°C: 200–300g (more for sensitive horses)

    (Part) clipped, turnout:

    • 10–15°C: 0–100g

    • 5–10°C: 100–200g

    • 0–5°C: 200–300g

    • <0°C: 300–400g or use layers (liner system)

    3) Rain and wind: warmth or waterproof?
In wet + windy conditions, a waterproof 0g turnout can be better than a thicker (but not waterproof) stable rug.

    4) How do I check if my horse is too warm or too cold?
Feel behind the shoulder under the blanket:

    • Warm & dry: perfect

    • Cold: too light / too much wind-wet

    • Damp/sweaty: too warm → go lighter

    5) Why use layers (liners)?
More flexibility: e.g. 0g turnout + 100g liner for quick adjustments.

    6) Still unsure?
Send us your measurement (cm) + breed/height + (ideally) a photo with the current blanket.

  • How do I measure the correct blanket size?

    ·       Most horse blankets in the Benelux are sized in cm (often the under length). Here’s how to measure correctly:

    ·       Stand your horse square on flat, level ground.
Use a flexible measuring tape (or a piece of string that you measure afterwards).

    ·       Measure the under length (most common):
Measure from the center of the chest, along the side over the shoulder, to the furthest point of the hindquarters (roughly where the tail dock begins).
This measurement in cm is usually the blanket size you need.

    ·       Tips if you’re unsure (fit check)

    ·       The blanket should not hang past the tail dock: if it’s too big, it often shifts backwards.

    ·       Between two sizes? Usually choose the larger one, except for very slim/small-built horses.

    ·       Check the neck/chest closure: it shouldn’t pinch, but it also shouldn’t be so loose that it slips.

    ·       If in doubt, we’re happy to help: send us your measurement (in cm) + breed/height and, if possible, a photo of your horse wearing its current blanket.
